Scannable Office > Features & Benefits
The FORM PUBLISHER module handles the form creation process. Using Microsoft Word as the base designer, AutoData Scannable Office adds special macros and transforms MS Word into a scannable forms designer. Using Scannable Office's simple point-and-click routines, place text and scannable objects on your form. Select from a library of built-in templates to place OMR boxes or circles (check marks), OCR (machine print), ICR (hand print), bar codes, key entry and image capture zones on your page. Click the "Publish" button, and a form is prepped and ready to scan.
The FORM READER module scans, processes and verifies data in real-time (interactively) or off-line (batch) mode. The module automatically recognizes a new form created with Form Publisher (and MS Word), or an existing scannable form, and places data located in the scannable regions directly into Access or Excel.
The TEMPLATE MAKER module transforms a form developed by popular desktop publishing programs such as QuarkXPress or Adobe PageMaker into a scannable form. With this module, you'll have the flexibility to use other programs besides Microsoft Word. Simply scan a form into Template Maker and define the scannable regions. The template can now be used with Form Reader.
The DATA MAPPER module automatically maps data from any field on a new or existing AutoData scannable form to an existing Excel spreadsheet, Access database, or other ODBC-compliant data source. The module displays appropriate form file, table, field and database data elements in an easy-to-view grid. Advanced users will appreciate the ease with which this module allows them to map data.
Platform Friendly, Feature Rich
Depending on the organization's setup, forms can be batch scanned on one workstation, while the data is processed and verified on a separate workstation located on the network. As an alternative, forms can be scanned, processed and verified interactively in one step.
6 Different Scannable Objects Supported in Scannable Office
Scannable Office embeds macros in Microsoft Word, so you can create scannable objects on your form like those shown below. Once the scannable objects' parameters are defined, the software automatically creates the objects on your electronic form. Creating scannable forms in Microsoft Word takes advantage of your existing knowledge of Word, with less time spent learning a brand new software design application.
